OPEN CALL RULES - DECALOGUE
| PAESAGGI | Affinities and divergencies - Cuneo, 2nd-3rd of September 2023
In order to participate, please, read our decalogue below and remember that:
1) participation in | PAESAGGI | Affinities and divergences is free and voluntary, open to anyone who wants to join this call, coming from anywhere in the world, with no age limits;
2) we only ask you to send the files and its print approval (only once) for use in a public place [see THE FORM and read THE TECHNICAL DETAILS ] in order to take part of a collective exhibition that will be held in Cuneo (CN - Piedmont, Italy) on the weekend of 2nd and 3rd of September 2023. At the same time, we also require the RIGHT TO USE A SINGLE IMAGE per author, in high resolution, for the purpose of using the PRESS KIT and generally, traditional, web and social communication;
3) it is a collective event of public POSTER ART, which means that the photos will be exposed outdoors in public streets, in a place agreed with the local administration.
We have decided to choose lesser-known and well-known places in the city with the purpose of creating a real cycle-pedestrian path on behalf of the public who would like to visit the exhibition. The prints and billboards will be paid by the corporation and there is no way they will be given to the author because they will be destroyed once removed, at the end of the festival;
4) This is neither a prize nor a competition, but it is also true that we will identify among the participants, (decision made together with the Municipality of Cuneo based on his CV, professional career, his own visual language, publications, approach and methods of work) an author that will be host by the organisation during the two day's event in september.
In addition, the selected author will have the opportunity to work in 2024 on an artistic residence in the area on themes dear to the festival. For the artistic residence, the author will be hosted by FormicaLab (and partner institutions) and will receive 1,000 euros for the work done.
an author whom will be given to the for the discussion and development of his own project, expected for the next year, before the next release of | PAESAGGI | (methods and times still to beagreed upon);
5) We also ask you to fill in the PARTICIPATION FORM for the formal approval of this Decalogue in order to take part of the public exhibition, but also to provide the organization with all the author’s contacts, which will be in no way given to others.
6) Using our images we dream of relating Europe, not only Italy to create a common depiction of the "state of the art". We see Europe in its PHYSICAL and GEOGRAPHICAL meaning of continent (geographical region of the world), therefore NOT
ONLY POLITICALLY. From our point of view the Ural mountain range remain the eastern border while the Caucasus depression as the southern one, according to the von Strahlenberg Line convention: Urals - Emba river - Kuma-Manyč depression. All artworks from: Great Britain, Cyprus, the Balkan area, Ukraine, Russia and from all the "mini states" or special cases such as: Vatican City, Andora, Luxembourg, Kaliningrad, Principality of Monaco, San Marino, etc. ...etc... are welcome. While artwork from any "overseas" possessions are not welcome, except for Gibraltar.
7) We are interested in photographic projects related to the EUROPEAN CONTEMPORARY LANDSCAPE, broadly, i.e. not only landscapes or views, but anything that can show the
environmental dynamics, relationships between mankind and his territory, issues related to climate change, eco sustainability experiences. Nature and the environment, as
well as the urban and the suburban area. Both the domesticated and the wild life;
8) We do not set any limits on creative, artistic and expressive side or language choice. However, as responsible for the CONSTRUCTION OF A coherent and understandable EXHIBITION PATH according to the proposed theme, we require a complete folder and a summary, preserving the right of selection to the SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE and its final judgment.
9) The scientific committee and the artistic management of the festival, within the FormicaLab-Aps association, will decide not only the number of images for each individual author to be printed, but also the print output size for each single image, taking into account the general exhibition itinerary and the public location assigned to the author;
(please read the file "LOCATION" to get an idea of the available locations).
10) It’s the organization’s responsibility not to manipulate the images provided by the author in any way,neither in terms of digital post-production (unless for specific printing success needs), nor in terms of print clipping, in order to guarantee originality and integrity of the artwork. The FormicaLab-Aps association also takes full responsibility for acknowledging the total intellectual property of the materials provided to the author and for admitting their free use only and only within the context of the | PAESAGGI | Affinities and divergencies, without giving them to others in any form, improperly considered.
Any use of the images given free of charge by the author for public exposure, in 2023, in Cuneo, considered irregular and/or in some way harmful by the author himself, must be expressed in writing and sent to the mail formicalab.info@gmail.com, just like any further request or useful information to be made before sending the file.

DECALOGO DI PARTECIPAZIONE

Cuneo, 2 e 3 settembre 2023
Per partecipare leggi bene IL NOSTRO DECALOGO e tieni presente che:
1) la partecipazione a | PAESAGGI | Affinità e divergenze è gratuita e volontaria, aperta a chiunque voglia aderire a questa call, proveniente da qualsiasi parte del mondo e senza limiti di età;
2) chiediamo soltanto l’invio dei file e il permesso per la loro stampa (una sola volta) per l’utilizzo in luogo pubblico (vedi IL MODULO) e leggi le specifiche) per fare parte di un’esposizione collettiva che si terrà nel comune di Cuneo (CN - Piemonte, Italia) nel week end del 2 e 3 Settembre 2023. Contestualmente, richiediamo anche il diritto di utilizzo di una singola immagine per autore, ai fini di utilizzi cartella stampa e più in generale, di comunicazione tradizionale, web e social;
3) si tratta di un evento collettivo di POSTER ART pubblica, ovvero le opere saranno esposte in esterno sulla pubblica via, il location concordate con l’amministrazione locale. Abbiamo deciso di prediligere luoghi meno noti e conosciuti della città nell’intenzione di creare un vero e proprio percorso ciclo pedonale a favore del pubblico che vorrà visitare l’esposizione. Le stampe e le affissioni saranno a carico dell’organizzazione, e non saranno in nessun caso cedute all’autore perché distrutte una volta rimosse, alla fine del festival;
4) formalmente non si tratta né di un premio né di un concorso, ma è altresì vero che fra i partecipanti individueremo un autore al quale (in base al suo Cv, al percorso professionale, al proprio linguaggio visuale, le pubblicazioni, approccio e modalità di lavoro) sarà offerta la possibilità di essere presente durante l’evento cuneese di inizio settembre, a spese dell’organizzazione.
Inoltre l’autore selezionato avrà la possibilità di lavorare nell’arco del 2024 ad una residenza artistica sul territorio sui temi cari al festival. Per la residenza artistica l’autore sarà ospitato da FormicaLab e da enti partner e riceverà mille euro lordi per il lavoro svolto.
5) chiediamo anche la compilazione del MODULO DI PARTECIPAZIONE per l’accettazione formale delle regole oltre che per fornire all’organizzazione tutti i contatti dell’autore, che non saranno in nessun modo diffusi a terzi;
6) sogniamo di raccontare in maniera collettiva e attraverso le nostre immagini l’Europa, non solo l’Italia per creare una raffigurazione collettiva sullo “stato dell’arte”. Intendiamo l’Europa nella sua accezione FISICA e GEOGRAFICA di continente (regione geografica del mondo), dunque NON SOLO POLITICA; Consideriamo quindi come confine orientale la catena montuosa degli Urali e come meridionale quella della depressione del Caucaso, secondo la convenzione della Linea di von Strahlenberg: Urali - fiume Emba - depressione del Kuma-Manyč. Sono ben accetti quindi lavori provenienti da: Gran Bretagna, Cipro, area dei Balcani, Ucraina, Russia e da tutti i “mini stati” o casi particolari quali: Città del Vaticano, Andora, Lussemburgo, Kaliningrad, Principato di Monaco, San Marino etc… etc… Non sono considerati d’interesse invece lavori provenienti da eventuali possedimenti “oltremare” eccezion fatta per Gibilterra;
7) siamo interessati a progetti fotografici inerenti il PAESAGGIO CONTEMPORANEO EUROPEO in senso lato, ovvero NON solo panorami o vedute, ma tutto ciò che possa raccontare dinamiche ambientali, relazioni fra l’uomo e il suo territorio, questioni legate al cambiamento climatico, esperienze di eco sostenibilità. La natura e l’ambiente, come anche l’urbano e il suburbano. Sia l’addomesticato che il selvatico;
8) NON PONIAMO LIMITI di tipo creativo, artistico ed espressivo, oppure di scelta di linguaggio. Richiediamo però portfolio completi accompagnati da sinossi, riservando per il COMITATO SCIENTIFICO e al suo giudizio inappellabile, il diritto di selezione in quanto responsabile della COSTRUZIONE DI UN PERCORSO ESPOSITIVO coerente e comprensibile secondo il tema proposto. (In caso di esclusione, non saranno comunque fornite ai partecipanti le schede di valutazione realizzate in ambito di delibera del comitato);
9) il comitato scientifico e la direzione artistica del festival, in seno all’associazione FormicaLab-Aps, si assumeranno inoltre il compito di decidere il numero di immagini per ogni singolo autore da portare in stampa e le dimensioni di uscita di stampa per ogni singola immagine, in funzione del percorso espositivo generale e della location assegnata all’autore; (consigliamo di consultare il file allegato “LOCATION” per avere un’idea dei possibili luoghi)
10) è fatto impegno da parte dell’organizzazione, il non manipolare in nessun modo le immagini fornite dall’autore né in termini di postproduzione digitale (se non per necessità specifiche di stampa) né tanto meno di ritaglio di stampa, per garantire originalità e interezza dell’opera.
L'associazioneFormicaLab-Aps si impegna inoltre a riconoscere la piena e totale proprietàintellettuale dei materiali forniti all'autore e ad accettarne l'utilizzogratuito solo e soltanto nell'ambito del Festival | PAESAGGI | Affinità e divergenze, senza cederne in nessuna forma aterzi un utilizzo che sarà quindi considerato improprio.
Qualsiasiutilizzo delle immagini cedute gratuitamente da parte dell'autore perl'esposizione pubblica sul territorio del comune di Cuneo nel 2023, consideratoimproprio e/o in qualche modo lesivo da parte dell'autore stesso, dovrà essereespresso per iscritto e indirizzato alla casella formicalab.info@gmail.com,esattamente come ogni ulteriore richiesta o informazione utile da esplicitarePrima dell'invio dei materiali.
